The madrigals of Monteverdi represent the cutting edge of the 17th century. Experimental, avant-garde and risqué, these works are presented alongside virtuoso instrumental repertoire that will be sure to impress! We celebrate the remarkable skill of local harpsichord builder, Paul Downie, as we launch his latest creation: a reconstruction of a 1637 Bolcioni harpsichord - another world first for New Zealand!
