The Grand Tour with Collegium Musicum Auckland |
|

7.30pm, Saturday 25 July 2015 Music Theatre, School of Music University of Auckland Door Sales: Cash/Cheque: $20 / $15 School of Music students FREE
Age of Discovery is delighted to be associated with the launch of a brand new face on Auckland's musical landscape: Collegium Musicum Auckland has been formed by early music specialist James Tibbles, to provide opportunities to explore baroque music on modern instruments, with close attention to historic performance conventions.
The group is made of gifted university music students, and follows the model established by Telemann, Bach and their colleagues in 18th century Germany.
This Saturday's programme is a Grand Tour that moves from 17th century Italy to far reaches of North Germany, and back to the high baroque of J.S. Bach.
The concert is going to be a real eye-opener - showing just how 'baroque' modern instruments can be! We are also delighted to be featuring a group of fine ensemble and solo singers - Collegium Voices.
Please join us.
